We have 0-499 NLM Stratified Games Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday afternoons at 12:30 and Tuesday and Thursday evenings at 6:30.   It is best to make a reservation to play.  Please see our Advance Reservation Policy for details.  On Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday afternoons the 0-499 NLM game is usually preceded by an optional short lecture beginning 30 minutes before the game time, i.e. noon.

We have lower level Games and Lesson-Games mornings (9:10) Monday through Friday and on Monday and Wednesday evenings (6:30).  Please see the calendar for specific levels.  Lesson-Games have a short lesson starting at the posted game time which is followed by a short scored bridge game.  Reservations for these lower level Games and Lesson-Games are neither required nor taken.  Most lower level Games and Lesson-Games higher than 0-20 are stratified.

For monthly calendars including special events go to Calendar.

LESSONS

We have bridge lessons in several different formats, the Lesson-Games just mentioned above, Saturday or Sunday Morning Workshops, Noon Lectures on some days, Supervised Lessons and Comprehensive Lessons.  For more information about all these lessons click on on Bridge Lessons above for more information.

BRIDGE TEACHER AVAILABILITY

Our bridge teachers are generally not available to teach off-site.  But if your organization is seeking a bridge teacher you can send us an email ‘want ad’ and we will pass it on to people we think might be interested and also post it on our bulletin board which is read by many bridge players.  Go to Contact Us.

PARTNERSHIPS

OPEN & 0-499 NLM GAMES:  If you would like to play but do not have a partner for a specific game, phone us about an hour and 15 minutes before that specific game time and speak to the Game Director.  We cannot guarantee finding you a partner for that game but we will do our best.

Lower Level GAMES and LESSON-GAMES (Monday through Friday mornings and Monday and Wednesday evenings):  Players can feel free to come without a partner.  Matching people up is done on the spot.  These games are a good place to meet many bridge players and possibly form new partnerships.

SNACKS

Essex Bridge Center provides coffee, decaf, and tea plus various snacks at all games and lessons.  Players are welcome to bring their own lunches and dinners to eat before the Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday afternoon games and all evening games.  Before the 12:30 games on Friday and Saturday a complimentary light lunch is served at Noon or players may bring their own lunch, of course.

Essex Bridge Center is affiliated with the American Contract Bridge League.
