Online Lessons

The main audience for this series
is any player with a few months of Bridge experience.
This is often the first Play of the Hand series
for Beginners,
however, any interested player
might find this series useful.
All are welcome.
This series is a basic introduction and application
of Trump Play of the Hand techniques
This is an 5-Week Online Series.
Players may attend all or any of the classes.
When:
THURSDAYS from Jan 26 - Feb 23
Morning Session: 10am - 11:45am OR
Evening Session: 7pm - 8:45pm
Participants choose a specific class time upon enrollment
but will receive the Zoom links for both class times each week.
Participants can swap form their chosen time
if necessary each week, choosing just one class time per week.
Price for Lessons:
$ 90 for all 5 Thursday Lectures on this topic
$ 18 for each Lecture / Play
Pay for individual weeks or for the entire unit at one time.
Cancellations and Refunds for each class
will be allowed until materials are sent.
What:
Players receive a pre-class Lecture PDF
with explanations and examples.
Players also receive a pre-class Video
to accompany the Lecture PDF.
On Class Day, players will join Alan
for approximately 45 minutes in Zoom for a Lecture
Then players will join Alan in Shark Bridge
for online practice of the lesson concepts.

Because this is a Play of the Hand Class, each student will be Declarer
on every hand in Shark.
Students will be placed solo at a table
to apply the concepts against their Robots.

Specific Techniques Taught in Each Session:
Thursday, January 26th
Part I
Players will focus on Pulling Trump from the Opponents
in Trump Contracts.
Development Technique: Establishing Length
Learning to see the potential in a 7+ card suit and
to maximize that potential to set up winners in the long suit
for later in the hand.
Thursday, February 2nd
Part II
Players will focus on Pulling Trump from the Opponents
in Trump Contracts.
Development Technique: Promotion
Learning to see the potential in a suit
with connected middle honor cards and to bravely force
the missing higher honor(s) out of the Opponents' hands early
in the play.
Thursday, January 9th
Part III
Players will focus on Pulling Trump from the Opponents
in Trump Contracts.
Development Technique: Finesse
Learning to see the potential in a suit
where an honor is missing in the middle of a string of honors.
Learning about HOPE and COMMIT while playing a suit.
Thursday, January 16th
Part IV
Players will focus on Pulling Trump from the Opponents
in Trump Contracts.
Development Technique: Counting Losers
Learning to assess each suit to determine
where problems exist. Learning where extra trump
might be applied. Learning where to apply
the other development techniques
when Declarer clearly identifies the type of problems
that exist.

Part V
Putting together all the pieces of Trump Play of the Hand
to set up and play trump contracts successfully.
